Most places you book are run by a company. This one is run by the two people who own the homes — and by three more we'd trust with our own.
We're Khaled and Sarah, and we live ten minutes from every home on this site. We started hosting eight years ago because the places we stayed in as travellers were never quite home — clean enough, but nobody had thought about the small things. So we thought about the small things.
Khaled spends far too much time planning and repairing things, which turns out to be exactly what you want in a host. Sarah looks after the bookings, the design, and the basket that's waiting on the table when you walk in.
Between us we answer in Arabic, English and German — and Khaled will have a go in French. Eight years, four homes and two hundred reviews later, the answer to "who is actually looking after us?" is still: us. Nothing is subcontracted to a management company.
We're travellers ourselves, so we know the difference between a listing that photographs well and a home that works at 2 a.m. with a tired toddler.
We prepare every home ourselves and we take the booking ourselves — no agency in between. You'll have our number from the moment you're confirmed, and we're ten minutes away for the whole of your stay.
Dani carries the conversation from booking to checkout — the confirmation, the check-in instructions, the gate, the code, the flight that landed three hours late. Arabic or English, usually answered within the hour.
Emad handles check-in and check-out, the extra crib, the thing that has stopped working. Amal leads housekeeping: every sheet, towel and cover goes out for professional dry-cleaning between stays.
Four homes is a deliberate number. It's how many we can look after without any of them becoming a listing we've never stood in.
